Contact segmentation is the process of dividing a large number of contacts into smaller groups based on specific criteria, such as demographics, behavior, or interests. This allows businesses to tailor their marketing efforts and communication strategies to specific audiences, resulting in higher engagement and conversion rates. In EQUP, Advance filters and tags are the tools used to segment the contacts.
How to use advanced filters?

- Once you have logged in, navigate to the "Contacts" section within the CRM module. This is where you will see a list of all the contacts stored in the system.
- Above the contacts listing, you will see a button labeled "Filter Contacts". Click on this button to open the filter options.
- In the "Search Filter" dropdown, select a property through which you want to filter the contacts. This could be any field related to the contact, such as their name, email address, phone number, city, any custom field, etc.
- Once you have chosen a property, select an operator from the "Select Operator" dropdown. The available operators may change depending on the property you selected earlier. Some common operators include "is", "is not", "less than", etc.
- Next, you will be prompted to either choose a value from a dropdown or type a value in a text box. This value represents the criteria that you want the contacts to meet in order to be included in the filtered results.
- After specifying the value, click on "Apply Filter". The system will then filter the contacts based on your input, showing only those contacts that meet the criteria you specified.
- Add additional filters: If you want to further refine the filtered results, you can repeat steps 3-6 to add another filter. The applied filters will be displayed below the "Search Filter" section, and you can use the "And" or "Or" operator between filters to specify the conditions under which multiple filters should be combined. If "And" is chosen, contacts that meet both filter criteria will be shown. If "Or" is chosen, contacts that meet any one of the filter criteria will be shown.
By following these steps, you can quickly and easily filter the contacts in EQUP based on the criteria that are most important to you.
How to save filters?

Go to the textbox "Filter Name", give the filter a name, and click on "Save Filter". The saved filter can then be accessed again from the "Select Filter" dropdown menu.
How to apply a tag to contacts?

Steps to apply the tag to the filtered content:
- On the left side of the "Name" column, click on the checkbox to select all the contacts present on that page of the table.
- After selecting the contacts, you will see a few actions above the table, including "Tag."
- Click on the "Tag" action to open a popup screen. On the popup screen, click on the "Select tag or type tag" dropdown. Here, you can choose an existing tag or type in a new tag.
- Once you have selected or typed in the tag, click on "Apply Tag." The selected tag will be applied to all of the selected contacts.
Note: To apply the tag on all the contacts which may be present on the next pages, you also need to select the checkbox called "Select All". And to apply multiple tags at a time, just select multiple tags while applying.
Now you know how to utilize advanced filters, save them, and apply tags to contacts. By utilizing these tags, you can create highly targeted campaigns that cater to specific segments of your contacts. This allows you to personalize your messages and emails, increasing their effectiveness and the likelihood of generating positive results. Whether it's promoting a new product, announcing a sale, or simply keeping your audience engaged, the ability to use tags in your marketing efforts can be a game-changer.
